How verification works on BizValid

Every business on BizValid is checked. Here is exactly what our verified badge means.

The BizValid Verified badge isn't handed out automatically. Every business on our platform goes through a structured verification process before they can accept enquiries.

What we check

Identity verification

Every business owner submits a government-issued photo ID. We match this against business registration details to confirm they are who they say they are.

ABN validation

We verify the business's Australian Business Number against the ABR (Australian Business Register). We check that the ABN is active and matches the trading name on their profile.

Licence check

For licensed trades (electricians, plumbers, builders, gas fitters), we verify their current state or national licence. The licence number is displayed on their public profile so you can cross-check it yourself.

Insurance confirmation

We request a Certificate of Currency showing current public liability insurance. For building work, we also verify home warranty insurance where required.

What the badge means for you

When you see the Verified badge, it means:

  • The business is real and actively trading
  • Their ABN is current and valid
  • Their trade licence (if applicable) is up to date
  • They hold appropriate public liability insurance
  • Reviews you can trust

Beyond verification, every review on BizValid is tied to a completed job. We don't allow anonymous or unverified reviews — so a 4.8-star rating actually means 4.8 stars from real, paying customers.
